Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring my favorite season, Time to clean out the old and embrace new energy, but it’s still cold so that means you’re probably like me – cooped up inside and still too cold out to open the windows, but I bet you’ve got some major winter piles stocked up: paper, blankets, laundry that needs doing, winter dust that has settled in.

Spring cleaning can be fun without feeling overwhelmed by it. Follow our spring cleaning rules to help you transition into the new season. when you’re done, your home will be as ready for the fresh spring air we’re all waiting for.
  1. Clean Room-By-Room
Approaching your home room-by-room is the most effective way to deep-clean your home at any time of the year, but especially in spring. Deep-cleaning the areas of your home that really needs extra attention. Focus on the parts of your home that have been neglected all winter.  Feel free to skip the space that has recently been cleaned.
Adding items in bins or baskets that don’t take up much space. Once you have your bins, make sure to label each one. For example, if you’re going through shoes, label that bin winter shoes. When things are stored well and labeled clearly, it makes your life so much easier when next winter rolls around.
  1. Organize and Clear the Clutter
One of the biggest parts of cleaning is getting rid of clutter that you don't need. Now is a good time with the natural spring urge to get rid of items that are weighing you down and begin fresh with a more streamlined lifestyle. First, you have to identify the problems and determining solutions, Sorting your belongings into four categories—trash, give-away, store, or put-way—can also be effective as you begin the spring-cleaning process.
Now is a great time to plan a garage sale or to donate items to good causes. Cleaning will be a lot easier when the clutter is gone.
Things to Remember while decluttering
  • Organize each room and give you a half clean slate, to dust, vacuum, and wash. Make sure each item goes into a category pile that stays separated.
  • Get ride of Items that are not equivalent to memories of the person who gave them to you, but pruning items with an emotional attachment can be difficult. Consider carefully if you need or use this item without emotional attachment. If you simply aren't sure, consider storing item ( but remember you are decluttering)  or giving them to another family member for safekeeping.
  • Keeping things just because you might need them someday may seem like a good reason for clogging your closets/home. Remind yourself that what you really need is space and organization.
  • Go through and see what needs to get washed in the laundry. This is very important, to have loads running while you clean the rest of your home. Double duty!
After cleaning your space, now it’s time to Clean your closet.
  1. Your closet needs a spring cleaning or just a little TLC
Get rid of old clothing even if it's the size you used to be and hope to return to. It's tempting to keep to feel like you have more options to wear.  But the goal is to get rid of what no longer serves you. Working in sections is key to not getting super flustered and frustrated.
Take one section in your closet at a time. Start with shoes, then move to dresses, then move to sweaters and so on so forth.
Create a pile for each of those sections. When you clean your closet out like this, half your time is spent getting things prepared for next winter and making sure that your closet transition goes smoothly.  Be sure you pack everything nicely and keep each section in their own.
There’s nothing I hate more than a messy wardrobe/closet/dresser/clothing.
4. Stay focus & strong
This may sound like a silly but stay strong!! I’m the worst at picking up something I literally haven’t used or worn in 3 years and thinking “eh well I might wear it or use it  next year!” No!
You gotta stay strong and get rid of things that are just taking up space in your home. That’s my rule for myself…if I haven’t used or worn a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes in a year then I need to get rid of it. Goodwill, the Salvation Army or a local women’s shelter can always use more Home goods, clothes and shoes so bring your “to donate” pile to one of those places. There are other people out there who could get a lot of use out of those things!
And remember…the more stuff you donate means the more space you have…which means you can do a little shopping to fill up some of that space! With the things you need Right?!

 5.  Next important step is to Bless your space. Bye Bye negative energy and hello positive energy.   ( Item’s to use
